The Arrival.
I was completely enamored by the beautiful visuals within The Arrival. Everything was extremely organized. The shots were all incredibly thought out in order to help the viewers eyes flow pleasantly from panel to panel and help the viewer understand the story flawlessly without the help of words. It was easy to follow and was a very unique experience. It's hard to really define what a graphic novel is. My belief is that, at it's bare bones, a graphic novel is a series of images that tell a story. The Arrival is a perfect example of this. The story worked and was view/read-able. I feel that the comic would lose a lot of it's appeal if it did have words. There was something very interesting and unique about how he went about The Arrival. There is also something to be said for the difficulty level of what Shaun Tan did. All in all the story was a great, enjoyable, viewing or reading experience.
